DALLAS ODIA SOCIETY is a non-profit organization and is being operated exclusively for Socio-cultural and charitable purposes.
Who We Are ?:
In 2004, a few DFW Odia families created an informal Yahoo Group to participate in various Social-Cultural Activities. In 2023, the informal group was formally made a non-profit Organization. Please find more details about us with out history under the About Us Menu Item.
Vision, Mission and Purpose:
The vision of DOS is “To be an inclusive Odia community in the Dallas Fort-Worth metropolitan area where society members cooperate and collaborate to promote and celebrate Odia culture , tradition, to build a reliable support system for the members in the community and to provide an experience of ‘Home away from Home’ to its members”.
The mission of DOS is “To promote and preserve Odia culture, language, heritage, and values among Odia people and the wider community. Dallas Odia Society aims to foster unity and cooperation among Odias and to create a sense of belonging and identity.
Our purpose is to focus on providing social, cultural, educational, and charitable services to our members and the community at large.
Message from President:
If you are a person and/or family of Odisha Origin living in DFW Metroplex - I welcome you to Dallas Odia Society. We are a family loving group of Odisha Origin and speak Odia. Together we have created a wonderful community that celebrated hundreds of events and created wonderful memories over 20 plus years. Our kids grew up before our eyes and bonded with their peers and that's what we call "Home Away From Home" experience. Without DOS, you may feel like living a wonderful life with a few friend of yours. But, without a "community", you may be missing something. Join us as a member and volunteer based on your Interest.
